What is Black Pearl Productions' philosophy? For us, the artist's creative freedom takes precedence over anything else. We want to produce quality records which music transcends any said-popular waves but still reaches the widest audience possible. We believe that a good seller doesn't have to be a "bubble gum" product. With an adequate marketing strategy music labeled non-commercial by the majors could become a hit. With this kind of philosophy, the notion of commercial success is not incompatible with artistic integrity. Even underground artists have to understand that their work is a product that ahs to sell to make a living and that every product released by Black Pearl Productions is an investment which has to make profits in order for the company to grow and keep its mission of promoting different artistic genres. What kind of artists is Black Pearl Productions looking for? Black Pearl Productions would be interested in well-organized artists. This means they have a manager (or efficiently manage themselves), they have well-planed marketing strategy, they have a clear understanding of the targeted market and, of course, they have an innovative and interesting product to offer, one which distinguishable originality, production and performance qualities puts it in a niche of its own. Considering that our company philosophy protects our artists' freedom of expression, and that, without any boundaries at all, we make sure that the people we choose to work with share our own artistic and aesthetic values. Music styles & genres can be very diverse. What market is Black Pearl Productions aiming for? For the time being, Black Pearl Productions puts its energy in Canada but, thanks to many years of working in the buisness and meeting interesting people, our artists' work can also be heard south of the border, if it meets our American partners' criteria. Qu'est-ce que Black Pearl Productions? Black Pearl Productions est une compagnie indépendante privée, qui opère sans aide gouvernementale.
